Greeting
Dear Sir, Yesterday you printed a photo of two eight-year-old girls outside their school, glued to their cell phones. I really must protest. Children who are only eight should not be allowed to take cell phones to school. Parents who buy such expensive items for their children are very irresponsible. School is for learning, not for making calls to your friends. When children take phones to school, they play with them instead of listening to their teachers. They even send each other text messages or use the phones as calculators during lesson times. Parents should not indulge their children by giving them expensive gifts. This makes it very difficult for parents who can’t afford them. These eight-year-olds will soon lose their phones or have them stolen. Then they will beg their parents to buy them new ones. Please publish my letter. I am sure that many parents feel as I do.
