Who: The woman damaged her phone. She had to replace it. The woman who damaged her phone had to replace it. Who is the subject of the verb damaged. Whose: The woman’s phone was damaged. She had to replace it. The woman whose phone was damaged had to replace it. Whose shows ownership. 3 Join the sentences with who or whose . Example:  The girl’s phone was lost. •  Word work: Practise reading the words. Remind students that ‘ph’ sounds like ‘f’. Get them to learn the spelling following the Look, Cover, Write, Check method. Students look at the word, then cover it and write it. They then look at the word again to check that they have spelt it correctly. DA  The exercises on ‘who’, ‘whom’, ‘whose’ may be done orally by some students, according to ability.
