• Remind students to use the past participle for the past perfect tense. It is not always the same as the simple past. DA Conduct this as an oral exercise with some students. • Extension: Practise reporting direct speech. Instruct students to make statements to a partner about things they will do in the future, things they do every day and things they did the previous day. Then they report what their partner said, e.g. John told me that he would go swimming tomorrow.
