3 Prepare a short radio broadcast about events in your school or community. These could be real or imaginary events. Include the following information about each event: • name of the event • where it takes place • date and time it takes place • other details, e.g. tickets 4 Present your broadcast to another student pair. Ask them to comment on your broadcast. Language Capital letters 1 Cover this page. Make up rules to say when you should use capital letters. Compare your rules with those in the box below.

We use capital letters : • to begin sentences

• to begin proper nouns: names, places, days and months • to begin adjectives made from proper nouns, e.g. G renadian • in titles of people and addresses, e.g. D r. W . C arter, B road S treet • for abbreviations.

2 Rewrite this paragraph using capital letters where they are needed.

•  Speaking and listening: Help students to listen with a purpose. They will find it easier to retrieve information if they know what they are listening for. Let them study Exercise 2 before you read the text in Listening Texts page 186. • Peer evaluation: Remind students that when they evaluate the work of other students, they should say what they liked about it and suggest how it could be improved. ICT Record some of the news broadcasts and play them back for comment. A a group of antiguan students from st. mary’s school will travel to miami on saturday, 6th july. they will take a caribbean airlines flight from v. c. bird international airport. Their teacher mrs. v. reynolds will accompany them. they will stay with american families for two weeks and attend classes at everglades high school. they will visit the kennedy space centre and disney world before they return to antigua.
