• Exercise 6: Explain that people usually have to pay for space in advertisements, so they keep their messages as brief as possible. Point out that people often make up their own abbreviations, e.g. b’room ➞ bedroom . • Exercise 8: Tell students to pick out the most important details. They can make their own abbreviations, e.g. Jun. Sports Camp, but they must remember what they mean.
