Writing: class newspaper Work in groups. Prepare an information page for a class newspaper.

1 Decide which sections you will include . This could be reports of school events, weather forecast, sports results, students’ birthdays. 2 Plan the layout of your page. Decide who will write each section. 3 Make a rough draft of each section. Read each other’s drafts and suggest improvements. 4 Copy each section on to a large sheet of paper. Display your newspaper in your classroom.

Lay out your page using different fonts and clip art to make it eye-catching.

•  Writing: Remind students to write a heading for each section of their newspapers. If possible create a wall display of students’ newspaper pages. Invite other classes to take a look. DA Students can contribute to the newspaper according to their abilities, writing articles, creating illustrations, word processing.
