The Principal, Sunny View Primary School,

Recipient’s address

Sandy Bay, Saint John

Dear Mrs. Jones, Please will you enter a team from our school in the National Spelling Bee this year? We have spelling tests in our class each week and many of us get full marks every time. If we enter the competition, it will encourage us to do even better in our spelling. Our form teacher, Mrs. Phillips, has promised to practise with us regularly before the competition. We will all work very hard so that we do not let the school down. It would be a great honour for us to be selected to compete and our parents will be very proud of us. If we do well in the competition, it will be a great honour for Sunny View School too. Even if we do not do win a prize, we will still improve our spelling. This will help us in our examinations next year. We hope that you will allow us to take part in the competition.
