We use the helping verb do / does + the root form of the main verb to form questions in the simple present tense: Does Jason like sports? helping verb main verb Do you play football?

• Exercise 6: Before attempting the exercise, revise the list of collective nouns on page 13. Identify the sentences which have collective nouns as their subjects. • Exercise 7: Remind students that the helping verb ‘does’ is used with third person subjects, e.g. the boy , he , she , it . The term interrogative can be used here instead of questions .
