Writing: report
When we write a report of a story or a poem, we include the following information: • The title of the story or poem and the name of the writer . • A brief account of what the story or poem is about. • Our opinion of the story or poem.

• Suffixes: Allow students to check the spellings of the words in Exercise 3 when suffixes are added. • You may wish to complete a chart about one of the poems as a class exercise before asking students to report on the second poem independently. Remind students that they do not need to write full sentences in notes. DA Do not require all students to write their poetry report out in full. Allow some of them to attempt only the first part of the task (completing the table).
