Checklist for a description Have I: described what I observed with different senses? used interesting words and phrases? checked the spelling of difficult words in my dictionary? used correct punctuation?
• Writing: You may find it useful to write as a class a description of what you can see through the classroom window. • Encourage students to use present continuous verbs in their descriptions, e.g. Two large birds are sitting in a tree . • Students can use a web to plan their description. See the example on page 173.
