Pronouns can be the subject of a sentence: I, you, he, she, it, we, they. e.g. She spoke toMom. Or the object of sentences: me, you, him, her, it, us, them. e.g. Bella spoke to her .

We use reflexive pronouns when the subject and the object of the verb are the same. Myself, yourself, herself, himself, itself, ourselves, yourselves, themselves.

The relative pronouns who, which and where can be used to join two phrases or sentences. She works in a hotel. The hotel is near the sea . è She works in a hotel which is near the sea.

• Subject and object pronouns: Remind students they can check whether words are the subject or the object of the sentence by asking questions, e.g. Dad bought rice. Who bought rice? (Dad: subject) What did Dad buy? (rice: object).
