Prepositions tell us how one thing in a sentence is related to another. They are followed by nouns or pronouns: I sat behind him.

All sentences have a subject and a verb. Many sentences also contain an object. Subject Verb Object Stevie watched a movie.
We use simple present tense verbs for facts and for what is done regularly: Verbs must agree with their subjects. If the subject is singular, we use a singular verb. If the subject is plural, the verb must also be plural. Are the underlined words the subject, the verb or the object of the sentences? 1 We made flags and banners for Independence Day. 2 The grade 6 students performed a play for the school. 3 The youngest students sang a medley of songs. 4 Parents came to see the display and the performances.
