Conclusion

What is a domestic cat? A domestic cat is a cat that lives with humans. It eats and sleeps like a wild cat but it does not hunt as much. Playing and hunting Domestic or pet cats enjoy playing. They may chase a feather on the end of a stick or a soft toy on a string. This is often ‘pretend’ hunting. They don’t need to hunt like wild cats because we provide them with food, so they ‘play’ at hunting with other cats or with their owners. A pet cat may still catch birds and mice even though it does not need them for food. Cats fight Cats are territorial. This means that one cat may fight another cat that comes into its territory or area. The more cats there are in the area, the more fights there are. Fights are usually short but noisy. The cats hiss and spit and howl. Both male and female cats defend their territory in this way. What else do cats do? Cats spend a lot of time sleeping but they also spend a good deal of time grooming themselves. They use their tongues and teeth to clean their fur. Are cats good pets? All in all, cats make very good pets. They are fun to play with and they are very clean. They may sometimes bring you a dead mouse as a present!

Conclusion

• Point out how the writer’s plan helps him / her to organise the ideas. Following the plan as he or she writes means that the writing has a structure which makes it easy for the reader to understand. • Discuss the purpose of the headings and how they help the reader to find information. • Talk about how other types of texts are organised (story, instructions, letter, book report).
