1

Brainstorm several places of interest in your country. Choose two.

2 Decide what information you will need and agree who will research each item. • What can you do there? • Is it interesting/fun? • Can you get food there? • When is it open? • How much does it cost? • Is it easy to get to?

Research Look at websites. Download brochures. Ask family members. Go to the library.

3 Plan the form in which your project will be presented. Make a list of tasks and agree who will do each:

• produce graphics, such as a chart, comparing the two places • use other visuals, such as, drawings, flyers, video or sound effects • write a conclusion. Find out as much as you can. Make notes and share your findings with the group. Agree which place you will recommend for a family day out. Draft, write and revise your section.

Collaborate with other students by sharing your work electronically.

51 • If possible, provide information about several places of interest in your country. Display leaflets or project information from the internet. ICT If it isn’t possible for students to do their own online research, invite them to make up any extra details they require to make an interesting presentation. • Explore with students ways in which they can share their work electronically via email, shared online folders etc. • Suggest that students create a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the two places.
