Follow the steps in Exercise 4 above and work out what the prefix ‘en-’ means.

• Extension: follow the same process with the word ‘extraordinary’ in paragraph 1 on page 54 to find the meaning of the prefix ‘extra-’. Other uses: extra-terrestrial, extra-sensory (perception), extra-curriculum. • Point out that, in print, paragraphs are often not indented. When they are not indented they are separated by a line space.
