Tiger, Dog and the Princess Tiger and Dog both wanted to marry the princess. “Let’s go to the palace together,” suggested Dog. “You ask first. If the princess accepts you, I will be happy for you both.” “Thank you, Dog,” said Tiger. The King began asking Tiger questions, “Can you afford to look after my daughter?” “Well,” began Tiger, “I have a small farm...” Before he could finish, Dog spoke up. “Small farm? Tiger has an enormous plantation.” The King smiled, “And do you have a house?” “I have a small...” began Tiger. “Small?” Dog interrupted. “Tiger has a mansion the size of this palace.” “I am happy to hear that,” said the King. Tiger was embarrassed and he coughed as a sign to Dog to stop exaggerating. “I see you have a cold,” observed the King. “A cold?” Dog declared. “Tiger has flu, smallpox and many other infectious diseases!”

“What!” the King exclaimed. “Get him out of here!” A moment later, soldiers had thrown Tiger out of the door and Dog had asked the Princess to marry him. She accepted and they were married immediately.
