We take turns to wash the dishes after dinner. If my mother comes home late from work, my father cooks dinner.” Mr. Adams looked at the class. “What do the rest of you think?” he asked.

•  Comprehension: Remind students of the difference between fact and opinion , as discussed in Unit 11. Encourage students to think beyond the stereotypes expressed by the girls. There may be households where tasks are shared more evenly between males and females. • Making notes: Explain that notes are a short way of recording information. We do not need to use full sentences in notes. We can also use short forms like ‘Mom’ and ‘Dad’. Read the notes Jade and Shelly made for their speech.
