4 Read your story to another student. Ask this student to tell you: • what he or she likes about the story. • how you could make it better.
• Writing: Choose one of the problems discussed in the ‘Speaking and listening’ exercise, e.g. a little brother taking an older child’s things. Draw the table on the board and fill it in as a class exercise, using this situation as an example. Encourage students to think about the effects of this problem as well as the solution . • This story could be added to students’ portfolios . Remind students to proofread their revised draft before handing it in.
