We use the command form of the verb to give instructions . Turn off the tap . Don’t waste water.

We sometimes put two words together to make compound nouns. rain + fall = rainfall sun + shine = sunshine Discuss how you could use less water. • Language: The command form of the verb is also known as the imperative. Give examples of classroom instructions. You could play a game like ‘Simon Says’ with imperative verbs. • Extension: Students could write a set of instructions for crossing the road. DA Allow some students to write fewer instructions.
