1 Work in groups. Prepare a group recitation of the poem. • Practise reading the poem aloud. • Discuss how to act out the poem. Include sounds and actions, e.g. clapping, dancing . • Decide who will recite the poem and who will make the sounds and actions. • Practise your recitation.

Present your recitation to the class.
44 • Speaking and listening: Get students to review the group recitations ( peer evaluation ). Ask questions to help them with their review, e.g. Did the group recite clearly? Did they make it sound interesting? Did you like the sounds and actions? ICT Video the students’ recitations and play them back for them to comment on.
