Language Adjectives
Adjectives are words which tell us more about nouns. The weather was hot . The thirsty boy drank the juice.
1 Which word in each group is an adjective? Ask yourself: Which words can I use to describe a water-coconut?

2 Find and write the adjective in each sentence. 1 The weather was cool yesterday. è cool 2 The baby chicks are fluffy. 3 My grandmother lives in an old house.
4 I could hear loud music. 5 My mother has a new car. 6 The students were noisy.
• Speaking and listening: Encourage your students to use their imagination when they talk about things they like to see, hear, touch and smell. Allow them to talk about things they dislike tasting, touching and smelling. • Adjectives: After students complete Exercise 1, write the names of three or four fruits and vegetables on the board. Students brainstorm adjectives to describe them.
