When we compare more than two things we add ‘ -est ’ to adjectives. tall – tall est big – bigg est With longer adjectives we use most to compare things. A rose is the most beautiful flower.

• Exercise 3: Encourage students to make sentences using comparative adjectives, e.g. I think that baking a cake is more difficult than making a cup of tea. Then compare opinions around the class. • Exercise 5: Point out the special forms ‘best’ and ‘worst’ before students start the exercise. Get students to answer the questions orally using full sentences. DA Allow some students to write one-word answers to Exercise 4.
