Plan an advertisement for a product. • Choose a product, e.g. a cheesy snack, sports shoes, a new computer game . • Think of a name for your product. • Discuss the information you will include in your advertisement. • Plan the layout of your advertisement.
2 Make a rough draft of your advertisement. Show it to another pair of students. Ask them:

• Is the information in the advertisement clear? • What do you like about our advertisement? • What could we improve?

Revise your advertisement. Copy it onto a clean sheet of paper.
• Word work: Revise the ‘Look, Cover, Check’ method of learning spellings. DA Writing: Put students in mixed ability pairs to create their advertisements. If possible, provide them with large sheets of paper for their advertisements. Some students may be able to invent a slogan for their product.
