She hugged him and said, “Thank goodness you’re safe!”

7 What do you think Greg’s mother will do when they get home? 8 ‘All’s well that ends well’ is a proverb. This means: a) Some things went wrong and the story ended badly. b) Some things went wrong, but there was a happy ending. c) You cannot change things which go wrong.
• Comprehension: Discuss with students what Greg’s mother should do. Should he be punished? How? • Discuss the meanings of some other well-known proverbs, e.g. A stitch in time saves nine; Don’t judge a book by its cover . • Ask your students what title they would give the story.
