Word work: prefixes

Prefixes are groups of letters we put at the beginning of root words to change their meaning. The prefixes un- , im- and dis- mean not . un + happy: unhappy Greg had to stay home. He was unhappy . im + patient: not impatient Greg did not want to wait. He was impatient . dis + obey = disobey: not obey Greg decided to disobey his mother. 1 M ake new words.
