• The comprehension questions are on a different page from the story so you may wish to write them on the board. • Ask pupils what sort of character Old Turtle is. Help pupils to work out character traits in stories from the way the characters behave. Old Turtle says, “I am not stupid.” Do pupils agree with him? • Speaking and listening: Demonstrate role play by pretending you are one of the characters and speaking in role. CR Discuss with the class whether it would be appropriate for the characters to talk in Creole or Standard English. Allow them to choose.
