• When pupils have practised telling each other how to make a sandwich, ask the class to help you to write the instructions on the board as numbered points. CR If pupils include Creole words and phrases, praise their instructions, select one instruction and ask: How would you say that in Standard English? • Explain how instructions are structured, putting the verb at the beginning of the sentence. ( E.g. Put your book on the table .) • For more work on instructions and directions, see Workbook 1 pages 125–126.
