• Ask pupils to tell you how they know this text is non-fiction (headings, photographs, information). • Question 4: Pupils should be aware of different types of texts . Ask how they know that this passage is non-fiction. (It is about things that are real. It contains facts and photographs and has headings). • Talk about the purpose of texts – to inform, entertain, instruct, etc.
