Language Commas in dates
When we write a date, we put a comma between the month and the year. 22nd June , 2017

• Letters: Discuss Exercises 1 and 2 as a class activity. Discuss the appropriate greeting and closing for each letter. • Speaking and listening: Read aloud the vox pop from Listening Texts page 165. Ask students which person they think makes the better argument? Encourage students to make a clear and persuasive presentation of their ideas. As a class, discuss the merits of each proposal and take a vote. • Later, they may copy and complete Graphic organiser 2 on page 157. • Extension: Invite students to draw a picture of their ideal park in their journals . They could go on to write a poem or a description of it.
