Choose one of the poems and write a report of it. Set it out like the example shown here.
• Have students write regular reports of stories and poems. Display them and encourage others in the class to read them. Study the sample book report on page 170 and use the Graphic organiser on page 158. • Set up discussions between students about what they have read. • Encourage them to keep reading logs or to write regularly in their journals – making a note of what they have read, what they liked or disliked about it, who the characters were, etc.
