She will bring you dinner tomorrow. SHAWN ( happily ): Thank you for helping us. JOEL: That’s what friends are for.

• Extension: Groups of students each rehearse one scene. Scene 1 requires three characters; scenes 2 and 3, two characters; scenes 4 and 5, four characters. Remind students to take note of the stage directions. • Group members who are not reading listen carefully and comment. • Students rehearse their scene several times and then perform it to the class. ICT Video the performances on a phone or other device. Play them back and ask students to say what worked well and what could be improved.
