(fat) When we compare using adjectives of two or more syllables, we usually add ‘more’ or ‘the most’ before the adjective. For the comparative , use ‘more’ + adjective. Lion is more handsome than Tiger. For the superlative , use ‘the most’ + adjective. Hippo is the most cheerful animal in the forest .

• Exercise 7: Remind students that they should change the adjective in the middle column by adding ‘er’ and possibly making other changes to the spelling. • Extension: Reinforce comparatives by comparing two or more students. Who is taller/the tallest? Who has longer/the longest hair? Who is the oldest/youngest in the class?
