Rewrite this paragraph in the simple past tense.

CR The past tense is used differently in Creole and Standard English. Give examples in both Standard English and Creole for your students to compare. • Tell students that irregular past tense verbs do not follow any rules. The forms must be learnt. Practise them regularly so that students learn to recognise that an incorrect word does not ‘sound’ right. • Show part of a movie or an animated story from YouTube. Ask students what happened – to practise the past tense. • When watching a video pause periodically and ask students to summarise what has happened so far. At the end, ask students to say what they liked or did not like about it.
