Projects & Competitions

Students at our campuses, including undergrads, collaborate in research and compete in prestigious national and international competitions, earning a long list of accolades: Daytona Beach/Prescott Collaborative Research Projects s The College of Aviation’s project, No One Left Behind: Integrating Underrepresented Minorities in Aviation/Aerospace Mental Health Needs, will provide monitoring and

feedback for training and practices to improve aviation/aerospace mental health education.

Academic Distinctions Our programs offer small, hands-on classes and a highly focused learning environment. s  Embry-Riddle is home to the first College of Business, Security and Intelligence in the nation. s  Unmanned Aircraft Systems, Space Physics, Global Security and Intelligence Studies, Emergency Services, Cyber Intelligence and Security, Aerospace Physiology, Forensic Accounting and Fraud Examination, Aeronautical Science: Rotary Wing, Spaceflight Operations and Human Factors Psychology are each one of only a handful of programs of their kind in the nation. s  Our undergraduate engineering programs are ranked among the top in the nation by U.S. News & World Report . s  Students can choose the right setting to achieve academic and career goals from our nationally recognized options, including two residential campuses or convenient online offerings. s  Students have access to faculty who mentor and engage them in hands-on learning opportunities such as funded research projects and study abroad experiences. Dual Enrollment s Embry-Riddle’s renowned Dual Enrollment Program helps students develop the advanced critical thinking skills needed for continuing academic success while earning college credit in high school. The program is offered both online and at many high schools and features coursework that can be transferred to post-secondary schools. It provides unequaled STEM learning opportunities and potential tuition savings.

Internships & Co-ops Internship and career services professionals with industry-specific specialties assist you in finding valuable educational experiences to add to your resume. s  We partner with JetBlue on the University Gateway Program, one of 12 specialized programs that offer our Aeronautical Science students a defined path to a career as a pilot. We’ve also partnered with Delta and SkyWest on innovative programs aimed at getting aviation students interviews for pilot positions. Both partnerships include pilot mentors. s  We are now part of the United Airlines Aviate program, which creates even more opportunities for flight students to become first officers at the global carrier. s  Global Security & Intelligence Studies and Homeland Security students intern at the FBI, CIA, DEA, Secret Service, Department of Homeland Security and Intelligence, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey, emergency operations centers, sheriffs’ offices and police departments. s  Internships in electrical and computer engineering are well-paid positions and may include benefits such as housing and relocation allowances. s  Industry/Career Expos collectively bring 100+ companies and agencies to our campuses to interact with and recruit our residential and Worldwide/ Online students and alumni.

s The College of Arts and Sciences is conducting research in applied data science to develop a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates Program in data-enabled industrial Mathematics. s The College of Engineering’s rocket engine test training is designing, fabricating and testing a liquid bipropellant rocket, enhancing Embry-Riddle’s competitiveness in high-profile rocketry competitions, including the Spaceport America Cup. s The College of Engineering’s Manipulator Pose Estimation Using Artificial Intelligence

Collaborative and Dual Campus Team Competitions s Revolutionary Aerospace Systems Concepts – Academic Linkage (RASC-AL) competition: Both our residential and online campuses worked with Politecnico di Milano securing a finalist slot in this year’s RASC-AL Competition with their SALVARE – Self-Acquisition of Liquid Propellant Versatile Arsenal of Resource Endeavour project. They will compete against 14 other undergraduate and graduate teams and present their concepts to NASA and aerospace industry leaders. s 26th Annual AIAA Design Build Fly Competition Flyoff – Teams from both campuses competed in Wichita, Kansas, with the Daytona Beach team placing second overall. The Prescott team also participated in the 2022 Taking Flight Event, an immersive outreach event promoting aviation, aeronautics, aerospace, in Gilbert, Arizona. s Our teams compete consistently in the women’s Air Race Classic collegiate category and have recently earned overall first and second place finishes. s Our flight teams have won the NIFA SAFECON national championship 15 times since 1992, have an unbroken 36-year record as regional champions and have won four recent national championship titles. s Embry-Riddle’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Business Club has won the PBL Arizona
