The École des hautes études commerciales (HEC) de Montréal was founded as the first university-level business school in Canada and one of the first in North America. The building that first housed the School was located in downtown Montreal. It now serves as the Centre d’archives de Montréal.
The School’s second home opened on the grounds of the Université de Montréal, on the northwest slope of Mount Royal.
