Central Washington University Board of Trustees July 25, 2025 ACTION – Approval of Collective Bargaining Agreement

On Tuesday, June 16, 2025, the United Faculty of Central ratified revisions to the collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with Central Washington University per Article 33.2 Duration of Agreement. With the approval of the Board of Trustees, the new CBA will be in effect until August 31, 2029. Key changes include: Article 18.7.1, 18.7.2 – Compensation For the final two fiscal years (FY28 & FY29) faculty compensation will be increased by the amount allocated to the University by the Washington State Legislature and approved by the Governor. In FY28, this will include an additional 1.0%. For example, if the Legislature and the Governor approve a three percent (3.0%) wage increase, salaries will be increased by four percent (3.0% + 1.0% = 4.0%) Article 18.16.1 – Faculty Development Funds Clarifying language around the use of faculty development funds; unused funds at the end of academic year 2025-2026 will be rolled forward for the 2026-2027 academic year, a one-time non-precedential change. Article 18.16.2 – Faculty Development Funds Travel funds for presenting scholarship or creative expression by tenure-track faculty reduced to $25,000 per fiscal year Article 18.16.2 – Faculty Development Funds Professional Development funds to support senior lecturers and full-time non-tenured faculty will be reduced to $25,000 per fiscal year
