I have been reading the letters of the Marianist foundress Adele de Batz de Tranquelleon and following her beatification in Agen, France that occurred on June 10, 2018. It was intentional that concurrently, we gathered near the Quad to bless and give thanks to God for the commencement of our construction project that will include a new chapel named after Mother Adele. I was mindful of the nearly simultaneous events taking place in both San Antonio and France; I felt grateful and privileged to be part of both the local Central Catholic community and the larger Marianist community. On that day, the collective smiles and fullness of hearts gave praise for God in our lives.
Paul Garro, President
Thank you for being the persons responsible for building an extraordinary faith community and enduring legacy. The bonds of love among us are tremendous and the physical signs of God’s blessings in our lives demonstrated at Central Catholic and in Agen, France help us to live our call to multiply Christians.

May 4, 2017 , our Holy Father , Fr ancis, signed the Decr ee of Beatification for Mother Adele de Batz de Trenquelléon, having received the favorable judgment of the Cardinals and Bishops who are members of the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, rendered in their meeting of May 2. The Cardinal Prefect, His Eminence Angelo Amato, presented the favorable vote to the Pope and the Holy Father signed the Decree regarding the “miracle, attributed to the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Mary of the Immaculate Conception (neé: Adelaide de Batz de Trenquelléon), founder of the Daughters of Mary Immaculate; born 10 June 1789 and died 10 January 1828.” This canonical process should be an occasion to intensify the prayer of the Marianist Family around our Foundress and to understand this miracle as a sign of the grace and love of God and of the Immaculate Virgin Mary. Please pray for our newest alumni who recently graduated, support them throughout their college years and seek to hire them when they are available. June 10, 2018 , Mother Adele was beatified in Agen, Fr ance.
