By His supernatural birth (Isa. 9:6 ,7 ; Matt. 2:1-12; Lk. 2:7-20). 2. By His wondrous miracles and works (the four Gospels and the Acts). 3. By His sinless, spotless, and perfect character (Heb. 7:26, 27). 4. By His divine atonement (Eph. 1 :7 ; 1 John 1 :7 ; John 3 :13-16). 5. By His bodily resurrection (1 Cor. 15: 20-24; Matt. 28). 6. By His saving power (Heb. 7 :25). 7. By His high priestly intercession (Heb. 4:14-16; 7:24,25 ; 9:11). — J oseph T. L arsen . The Basis of Christ’s Appeal to Men The Lord Jesus Christ presents a univer sal appeal. In His personality, He is unique, supreme, undying, and undefeated. He appeals to men, saved and unsaved, through the following means: 1. His eternal existence (John 8:58). 2. His spotless character (Heb. 7:26). ' 3. His atoning work on the cross (Rom. 5:6). 4. His high priestly intercession (John 17). 5. His ability to save to the uttermost (Heb. 7:25). When there is a response to this appeal, there will be worship o f the Lord Himself, faith in the atoning work of Christ, life received through His name, hope through His promises, and eternal life in His pres ence.— J oseph T.
