in JUNE &JULY FOR CHRISTIAN GROUPS UP TO 244 PERSONS

ARROWPINES, in its Switzerland- like atmosphere high in the San Bernardino Mountains at Arrowhead Lake, offers the perfect environment for a Christian conference or retreat. Nestled in the pine-studded hills surrounding the main lodge and din ing hall are 25 cabins and a new 12 room dormitory which will shelter 244 persons. They have private baths, hot showers, vented heaters, inner- spring mattresses. A main point of interest to everyone is the huge dining hall (such wonderful food!) and assembly room where 244 per sons may be served at one time with family-style meals from a hotel- size kitchen that has everything, including an electric dishwasher. There is also a snack bar and game room, as well as "Victory Circle” where outdoor campfire meetings are held. One might say that Arrow- pines was planned with the young people in mind, for the proof of its popularity lies in the testimony of those who return and return. Truly a place for happy memories and a closer walk with Christ, Arrowpines should be in your plans for this summer. 'Make, 'Ipyu/t , , ,

Martin and Joyce Jose has become professor of the first grade, grown-up style, of course' . . . with pupils ranging from 10 to 60 years of age. We have begun teaching the adult Christians on the Ajara River to read.” Helen (Hubbard ’30) and Lawrence Simpson ’32, Mexico: “We have in our area the only evangelical bookstore, the primary objective of which is the distri bution of evangelical literature in the area of several million people . . . We need a full-time director for the store, his sup port, and funds to pay the government-ap proved accountant . . . All this would cost $300 a month . . . and we have a national who is an experienced Christian business man, who would be available.” Marcella (Delk ’55) and Herb Jones, Nigeria, West Africa: “ In January, we are scheduled to begin the Higher School Certificate course, equivalent to a junior college course in the States . . . Pray for the many problems which will come. Herb has been teaching Mathematics this year . . . instead of Chemistry . . . and has completed his correspondence course. Also, he speaks in chapel every two weeks . . . I teach one art class a week and work as school secretary approximately 4)4 hours a day, as well as dispensing medi cine twice daily and teaching the ‘Mis sionary Kids’ pre-schoolers Sunday school class every Sunday afternoon.” Leon ’55 and Jody (Conners ’54) Cooper, Brazil, South America: “ Pray for our young pastor, who is so discouraged be cause of lack of teachers, materials, money, etc. Praise the Lord for continued per mission to teach in the local high school, with increased attendance.” Don and Faith (Hollingsworth ’21) Turner, Quito, Ecuador: “ Continue to pray for the outreach of the radio classes of HCJB . . . and for the Bible class with English speaking women . . . and the one recently begun for Spanish-speaking business women.”

This beautiful new fireproof cabin has 12 large well-ventilated rooms with 8 single beds to each room. Each has its own private lava tory with tiled stall showers.
