T he annual Spring Concert at Southwark Cathedral is always an important event in Dulwich’s musical calendar, but this year, by commemorating the First World War through poetry and music, the evening gained an extra sense of occasion. The evening began with a reading by Ned Tidmarsh from Old Alleynian Historian David Reynold’s recently published The Long Shadow , which seeks to reassess the impact of the war and provided a suitably informative start.
