" Tell me, 0 thou whom my soul loveth, where thou feedest, where thou makest thy flock to rest at noon” (Cant. 1:7). If you are a hungry, weary one, who has lost sight of the Shepherd, it is not because He has changed from the old days of rest and satisfaction, but because you have “turned aside” and left Him. Turn again to Him, or if you do not know where to turn, lift up your heart in this prayer. Ask Him to tell you where He is, where He is feeding His flock, for that is His constant work—feeding and resting; and though you cannot tell where He is, and seem to be speaking only into thick dark ness, you will find He is not far away, but that your faint, weary cry will reach Him, and reach Him at once. —A nnie W. M arston . JANUARY 22 Bought with a Price "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field” (Matt. 13:44). The field may have seemed worthless, yet because he found a precious treasure there, with joy he “selleth all that he hath, and buyeth the field.” What a glorious picture of redemption is th is! Worthless we think ourselves to be, and we are, yet God thinks the world of us, worth an immense purchase price. We possess a pearl—a precious and immortal soul—and the price already paid is nothing less than the blood of Christ. . . . Every redeemed soul that refuses . . . to surrender itself to Him as His own purchased possession is defrauding God.— R obert L ee . JANUARY 23 Justice and Mercy "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them” (2 Cor. 5:19). God satisfies the longing heart with the beauty of His character when we linger before the cross of Calvary, for it is there that we remember He was in Christ recon ciling the world unto Himself. We can there understand what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us. What Is even more solemn and important, we are convinced, as we linger by the cross, that the divine love is holy and eternal. We rejoice in the fact that, although divine justice can by no means clear the guilty, divine love can provide a way of restora tion and peace.— Life of Faith. JANUARY 24 Revealing Christ "It pleased God . . . to reveal his Son in me” (Gal. 1:15, 16). Not merely in the words you say, Not only in your deeds confessed, But in the most unconscious way— Is Christ expressed. For me ’twas not the truth you taught, To you so clear, to me so dim, But when you came to me you brought— A sense of Him.

By the founder o f The World W ide Revival Prayer Movement MRS. HENRY M. WOODS

“A recital of the adventures and achievements of faith, a demonstration of ‘Signs following/ inspired by the Holy Spirit; a challenge to enlist in the urgent business of working for a much needed Revival in all the churches.”— Baptist Standard. “The book is a personal witness of the power of prayer and of the leading of the Holy Spirit in local and world wide revivals. It should have a wide reading by Christians of all denominations and shades of theological belief. It points the way to a great essential to revival a t home and abroad, i.e., humble, fervent, persistent prayer of faith, preceded by confession and repentance and followed by Spirit-guided action.” —Christian Observer , Southern Press. “It warmed my heart, renewed my grip on God and revived my faith in the potency of prayer.
