happy” says Peter. “We simply take a gentle childhood, combine it with what makes us smile and paint it. If a smile is returned or a memory stirred then we have done our job.” Launching two collections side by side is a natural progression for the couple who have collaborated creatively for years. Peter’s new collection, which will please his many fans, includes the largest launch of Impossimals for over four years, and follows on from the edgier and darker 2013 Bloodlines collection. “I am very passionate about my work” says Peter, who maintains that behind the simplistic style hides complex meaning and thought processes which adds another layer of interest and intrigue for his legion of collectors both in the UK and abroad. Working together in a purpose- built country studio, Peter and Jayne write, illustrate, sculpt, paint and create together to bring not only the Impossimals to life, but all their other creations too. Jayne has always been a driving force behind the Impossimals over the last decade, often working with Peter on his collections in terms of design, back stories and conjuring up the humorous titles, but recently she has in her own words “started to really unfurl my own creative wings in the studio.” Jayne’s own work includes a stunning range of art and ceramics now available through Washington Green galleries. A skilled ceramicist, as well as a seamstress with pattern creation, painting, sewing, felting, woodworking, and metal work experience all under her belt, Jayne’s work is

All of her pieces are based around her love of wild- life, and created individually with only one or two main components sharing a series of artwork. “From gold leaf to clay, from paint to fabric, every piece of art I create has found its place from everything I love” explains Jayne. “The final creation is vividly tactile pieces of original art that looks quite simply beautiful.” Here is a Mr & Mrs Smith who will not be going anywhere quietly!
