Dorene Jennings December 15, 1934 - April 2, 2022 In Remembrance of...
Dorene Jennings was my beloved mother.
Tragically, Dorene was killed by an intoxicated man in a head-on collision as she was returning from her summer cabin, her mountain sanctuary for nearly 50 years. My mom was 87 years old, but don’t let age fool you! Dorene was most definitely living her best life! Dorene was a retired high-school teacher. She lived in the same home in north Denver where she and my (now deceased) father raised me, my brother and my sister, and then welcomed four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Dorene mowed her own lawn, kept a stunning garden, shoveled her own sidewalks, and read over 100 books a year! Dorene loved her family, her friends and her life. She loved to travel, attend live theater, golf, exercise, and spend time with her family and friends. More than one of my mom’s friends told me at her Celebration of Life that “Dorene was THEIR best friend”! Dorene was so easy to be with, listened like nobody’s business, was so loved by all, and lived a vibrant, full life before it was so abruptly taken. In the fall of 2021 I asked my mother how she would want to be remembered. Mom quickly and decisively replied: “I had a wonderful life, and a wonderful family and circle of friends”. We miss you so much Dorene! You are forever in our hearts and memories. Thank you for the equanimity and unconditional love you bestowed upon all of us!
