Welcome to DUCKS - An introduction for parents 2017

Your Child’s First Day Kindergarten Please bring the following on your child’s first day: • a contact telephone number. Please always let us know if you are not at your usual contact number • a comforter or special toy if needed • a bag with a change of clothes to remain on your child’s peg • plenty of pants/knickers if your child is not in nappies • outdoor coat, hat and gloves, if cold All items listed above should be provided from the first day of term. Please ensure that everything is labelled. This helps us to return any mislaid items to their owner and avoids staff and children being distracted from other activities because of searching for lost items. Unfortunately, DUCKS cannot be held responsible for the loss of any clothes. The children will be involved in messy activities most days and whilst we do try to make sure that the children use aprons, we strongly recommend that you send your child in clothes that can get dirty and possibly stained. Nursery and Reception On your child’s first day, please bring a blue DUCKS backpack with a change of clothes to leave on your child’s peg containing more than one pair of knickers, pants and socks. Please also leave a pair of wellington boots in their boot box. Your child also needs to bring a named, filled water bottle every day. You will be informed at the start of term which day your child has PE. For Reception please see the uniform list. Nursery children need to come to school dressed in navy tracksuit bottoms and trainers with their sweatshirt on PE days. • wellingtons • water bottle Policies and Further Information A number of the DUCKS polices are available on our website www.dulwich.org.uk/ducks In addition to our policies we also have the following forms: • Medication Request Form • Ingredients Checklist • Alternative Collection Arrangements Form These are available from the office or Kindergarten and Infants’ School reception areas.
