WORKPLACE COMPETENCIES Workplace competencies are required skills, attributes or behaviors that enable today's workforce to perform effectively on the job. These technical skills are designed to provide the labor force with a solid foundation in developing critical professional skills. COURSES LEAN PROCESS: LEAN MANUFACTURING AND SIX SIGMA Provides an overview of the Six Sigma methodology, identifying the fundamentals of lean manu- facturing, lean enterprise, and lean principles. Describes the key dimensions of quality, product features and freedom from deficiencies, and the understanding of how products and services that are free from deficiencies can promote customer satisfaction and attract and retain new custom- ers. STRATEGIC PLANNING Provides methods for planning and controlling projects. Includes project management concepts and models, critical path, analysis of time/cost benefits, and resource utilization. PRACTICAL PROJECT MANAGEMENT Provides an overview of the entire project management process, as well as key project manage- ment tools that can be used every day, such as working with project planning documents, needs assessments, risk management and communication plans that will provide benefits throughout the organization.

BUSINESS TOOLS Business tools help increase workplace productivity and efficiency. The course curriculum is designed to provide the workforce with the core business skillset required to function in today's competitive workplace environment. COURSES MS WORD Provides instruction to word processing terminology, editing functions, formatting, and special text options at the introduction, intermediate, and advanced levels. MS EXCEL Provides instruction in the concepts, procedures, and application of electronic spreadsheets at the introduction, intermediate, and advanced levels, using both basic and complex arithmetic opera- tions and functions. MS POWERPOINT Provides instruction to computerized presentation graphics such as planning, designing, and pro- duction of business graphics and charts utilizing multimedia software at the introduction, interme- diate, and advanced levels.

MS PUBLISHER Provides instruction in desktop publishing principles, with an emphasis on page layout and design at the introduction, intermediate, and advanced levels. MS OUTLOOK Provides instruction in the concepts, procedures, and application of electronic mail and the per- sonal information manager functions at the introduction, intermediate, and advanced levels. MS ACCESS Provides instruction in the concepts, procedures, and application of electronic databases at the introduction, intermediate, and advanced levels. MS PROJECT MANAGEMENT Provides instruction in plan development, task resource assignment, progress tracking, budget management and workload analysis at the introduction, intermediate, and advanced levels. MS VISIO Provides instruction of the diagramming and vector graphics application at the introduction, inter- mediate, and advanced levels. MS SHAREPOINT Provides instruction for utilizing the business productivity server bringing information management and access, collaboration, and processes into various environments. ADOBE Provides instruction in formatting application used to present documents independently of applica- tion software, hardware or operating systems . TECHNICAL WRITING Introduces elements of grammar, composition, basic writing and editing skills for technical writing, while focusing on the use of technical terms, graphics, and formatting of technical documents at various levels.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT FUNDAMENTALS 8 hrs. In this course, students will identify effective project management practices and their related pro- cesses. They will examine the elements of sound project management and apply the generally recognized practices to successfully manage projects. PMI-ACP (PMI-AGILE CERTIFIED PRACTITIONER) EXAM PREP 21 hrs. The objective of this course is to assist the student in preparing for the PMI-ACP ® (PMI Agile Certi- fied Practitioner) examination. PROJECT MANAGEMENT PROFESSIONAL (PMP ® ) 6TH EDITION PMBOK ® 35 hrs. The purpose of this program is to prepare experienced project management team members to take the PMP ® (Project Management Professional) certification examination. The emphasis is on explaining the PMI ® (Project Management Institute) best practices for project management across the continuum from predictive through adaptive life cycles as proposed in the 6th edition PMBOK ® (Project Management Body of Knowledge). The course provides the student the information required to understand the concepts that will need to be applied in an analytical manner to answer examination situational questions. It is expected that the student will review these lessons and use practice questions and flash cards to finish preparation for the examination.
