Martin Sas – SERC Marty Sas brings over two decades of expertise to the Bulk Electric System industry, currently enriching SERC Reliability Corporation for the last five years. His role primarily involves liaising with various working groups such as the RRWG, RCWG, and SOWG, supporting departments like RAPA in coordinating and assessing the bulk power system to mitigate risks to its reliability and security. Prior to SERC, Marty's 13-year tenure at MISO included a significant role as Senior Manager of South Reliability Coordination and Engineering, where he led efforts to maintain the reliable operation of MISO’s southern system by managing power balance, constraints, and market operations. He started at MISO as a Reliability Coordinator, contributing to the establishment of the MISO South Region. Before MISO, he spent four years at PJM as a Power and Generation Dispatcher, after beginning his utility career in 1994 with various roles in a Utility Line Construction Company, from Construction Manager to Field Engineer. Marty holds a NERC RC certification and earned a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, showcasing a longstanding commitment to the energy sector's reliability and security.
Joseph Tromba – SERC Joseph Tromba joined SERC Reliability Corporation in June 2021. Before SERC, he worked at a law firm for three years. Tromba graduated cum laude from Dowling College in 2015 with a Bachelor's in Business Management and from Jacob D. Fuchsberg Touro Law Center in 2018, where he was a Notes Editor for the Touro Law Review. After passing the New York Bar Exam in 2018, he practiced civil litigation at Glynn, Mercep, and Purcell LLP, focusing on various legal areas and serving as counsel to emergency services. At SERC, he began as Associate Legal Counsel, managing noncompliance cases and handling procurement, and was promoted to Legal Counsel in January 2024, specializing in enforcement and legal presentations.
