END OF LIFE SYMPTOMS WE HONOR VETERANS
“We Honor Veterans” is a special program designed to honor those nearing the end of life who served in the United States Armed Forces. It is a national program originally founded by the Veterans Administration in con- junction with the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization. This program is a partnership with local chapters of the Military Officers Association of America, honoring vet- erans under hospice care with special pinning ceremonies in which a certificate, blanket, and pin are awarded to the patient for their service. The ceremonies are customized to the desires of the individual being honored and can include shared stories, music from our Music Therapist, and prayer. In addition, Four Seasons is excited to share the Dan and Nancy Barber Veteran’s Memorial Garden on the Elizabeth House grounds. Veterans are also entitled to certain death benefits.
