One thing my wife Helen and I genuinely love doing is making a proper occasion out of somewhere special to eat. Not rushed, not squeezed in around work, but actually slowing down and enjoying the whole experience. One place we always come back to is Paul Ainsworth at No.6 in Padstow. We have been going there for around five years now and it never feels predictable because the menus change constantly depending on the seasonal local produce available. Last year we stayed in Padstow for three nights and worked our way through all three of their restaurants. What stood out most though was not just the food, but the atmosphere around it all. Relaxed music, incredible service and little details that stay with you afterwards.
It is one of those places that reminds you good food is never really just about food.
