Clare’s Cornwall Days Kids Actually Remember

I honestly think the days children remember most are rarely the expensive ones you spend weeks organising. It’s the random little moments that become the stories that are told years later. One year we ended up wandering around the harbour lights absolutely freezing cold but the kids loved every second of it. Another time we spent half a day riding trains, eating chips and drinking hot chocolate, which somehow became one of the highlights of the holidays.
That’s what I love about family days out in Cornwall. You can go from beach or cliff walks to woodland streams, train rides, caves, ice skating or feeding animals all within hours.
We’ve learned pretty quickly that our children don’t really care whether somewhere is trendy. They care whether they can climb on it, splash in it, feed it or nearly fall into it.
And honestly, those are the days we remember best too.
