G reenline Plumbing Supplies opened their new Cavan branch in January, hot on the heels of them winning the title of Merchant of the Year at Ireland’s Plumbing and Heating Awards 2019 for customer service. David Bates, MD at Greenline Plumbing Supplies, says it was the right time for them to make the move. “We had been thinking about expanding in Navan and were looking for premises big enough to include a bathroom showroom. But when the opportunity to buy the
existing Cavan Plumbing Centre premises arrived we couldn’t ignore it. “We got off to a bit of difficult start with the lockdown, but the trade we had from plumbers working in the hospital or council buildings was enough to keep the Cavan branch open. When we could open fully again, we had a great couple of months, dipped a little when the kids went back to school but now we’re back to steady growth.” The lockdown did present an opportunity for the new store,
however. “We had the time to revamp and rebrand the trade counter a lot quicker than we would have if we were in full operation mode,” says David. “We left the counter where it was but rejuvenated the back walls and increased our plumbing tool stock.
“When the opportunity to buy the existing Cavan Plumbing Centre premises arrived we couldn’t ignore it.”
